dropped my camera, its now broken.

ill be back into biking this friday (hopefully).

Portland still gives me chills, actual chills, from time to time.

For instance, I just got back from a debate hosted by one of the two weeklies (the Portland Mercury). The debate was titled "Bikes vs. Cars" and bikes won. The debate was held in big open bar and it was packed. The moderator was Sam Adams, transportation commissioner (one of the five city commissioners). Portland: a town of beer lovers, where electing a man named Sam Adams to be the transportation czar is just the beginning.

Adams clearly enjoying the spotlight, but doing a fine job, made some good jokes and kept the discussion rolling. Walking back to the bus stop I saw:

a rat, tottering into a bush
an actress, from a locally produced bike-centered WebTV show.
a startlingly fine sunset.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about whether or not intelligence is an automatic virtue. Conclusion so far: no, but with lots of interesting (to me) qualifiers.
